As a major exporter of coffee, Peru has a long history of growing coffee beans that dates back to the 18th century. The country also has an excellent specialty coffee scene that’s fueled the growth of specialty coffee shops.
Cusco is one of the best places to experience Peruvian coffee. There are a lot of cafés that not only take pride in their coffee, but also offer delicious sweet and savory pastries. For remote workers or digital nomads, some of these cafés are also equipped with good wifi and outlets.
Whether you’re a coffee connoisseur or just want a good cup of coffee that’s not from your hotel, this list of the best coffee shops in Cusco won’t let you down.
Three Monkeys Coffee Cusco
Three Monkeys Coffee Cusco is the 22nd best coffee shop in the world on The World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops 2025 list, and I think it delivers on its ranking. Three Monkeys Coffee takes its coffee seriously, as the menu leads with the different types of coffee beans it offers. Choose between espresso or filtered coffee and then the coffee bean you want. For espresso, you can specify if you want it in a milk-based drink too.
My server was helpful in explaining the difference between the coffee beans. When my flat white came, he also told me about the tasting notes that I would experience.
Three Monkeys Coffee also serves a small selection of pastries, hot chocolate, and tea.
Florencia y Fortunata Specialty Coffee
Florencia y Fortunata Specialty Coffee is one of my favorite cafés in Cusco. The woman-owned and operated coffee shop is bright and airy, with two floors of seating and cute blue and white branding.
Everything that I’ve had here, from the coffee to the pastries, was excellent. It’s also a nice touch that they provide you with a glass of water, since you can’t drink tap water in Peru and you typically need to pay for water at restaurants.
The café is very popular, so you may have to wait for a seat.

Cercanía Pan y Café
Over the month that I spent in Cusco, I went to Cercanía Pan y Café three times. The café does excellent coffee, pastries, and sandwiches. I particularly enjoyed their iced tea, foccaccia mixta, and croissant with chorizo and cheese.
Due to how small the café is, it may be difficult to get a table. I recommend getting there early for breakfast or lunch. You can always get something to go too.
Xapiri Ground
Xapiri Ground is both an art gallery and café located by Plaza San Blas. The café is located on the bottom floor of the art gallery, while exhibitions featuring local art span both floors of the building. There’s seating on both floors too, but like other cafés on this list, the place is small.
Although the menu is small, there’s a nice selection of pastries, iced teas, teas, hot chocolate, and even beers. I visited right when the place opened and was the only visitor there. So if you find it difficult to find a table at other cafés on this list, try Xapiri Ground.

Black Llama Coffee
Black Llama Coffee is located inside Black Llama Hostel. I stayed at the hostel for my entire time in Cusco, and I can tell you that the coffee here is worth the visit. Every cup is carefully made and service is excellent. Aside from coffee, there’s also pastries and a full menu of toasts, bowls, and sandwiches.
Black Llama Coffee is also a wonderful place to get some work done. The common area where the café is has a communal table in the center, a few small tables, bean bags, and couches. There are lots of outlets scattered throughout. While the wifi was good enough to send emails, use Google Docs, and browse, I had trouble maintaining a steady connection for video meetings.
ONÍRICA Coffee Roastery & Brew Bar
If you’re a coffee purist who prefers your coffee black, be sure to visit ONÍRICA Coffee Roastery & Brew Bar. The brew bar specializes in high-quality filtered coffee, and it’s a great place to learn about the coffee that you’re drinking.
In an unassuming passageway, you’ll find some seating and a window where you can order. Simply choose how you want your coffee brewed. They offer popular extraction methods like French press, Aeropress, Chemex, and V60.
Note that they do not have milk, and it’s cash only.
Cappuccino Cusco Cafe & Work
Cappuccino Cusco Cafe & Work became my go-to café for remote working when I was in Cusco. The wifi was fast enough for video meetings and there are outlets under almost all the seats. The café is spacious, with seating along the wall, a large communal table, and a few high-top tables outside on their balcony.
It’s a bit difficult to find the café since it’s located on the second floor in a courtyard. From the street, you’ll need to turn into a small passageway with a few vendors selling souvenirs. You should see the courtyard and a set of stairs on the left. Just go up those stairs and walk around the balcony to find the entrance.

Flora – brunch & coffee
Flora – brunch & coffee is a multi-level café with both indoor and outdoor seating. If it’s nice out, I recommend taking advantage of their outdoor seating to enjoy your meal while soaking up some sun. Flora is a nice place for either breakfast or lunch, as it serves smoothie bowls, oatmeal, toasts, and sandwiches alongside coffee, juices, and smoothies.
Indie Cafe & Concept Store
Indie Cafe & Concept Store is an adorable café and shop selling clothes, ceramics, and other locally made goods. While you can pop in for coffee, cakes, and cookies, the café also serves a couple of different breakfast sets that include food and drinks.
There are two locations – one near the Cusco Cathedral and another on Calle Teatro.
Café 카페 catffle roasters 붕어빵
This Korean café is tucked into the corner of a courtyard that houses restaurants and other businesses. Café 카페 catffle roasters 붕어빵 is the perfect place to have something different. There are specialty coffees, including the viral dalgona coffee, and taiyaki, a fish-shaped cake that is typically filled with a sweet paste, custard, or cream.
